Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 25, 2026
AssessIQ ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data of educators, administrators, and students who use our platform. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled.
1. Information We Collect
- Account data: name, email address, role, and hashed password.
- Assessment content: questions, answer keys, and PDFs you upload.
- Submission data: student responses, scores, and timestamps. Guest submissions include the display name and a device identifier you provide.
- Billing data: plan level, transaction history, and PayPal order references. We do not store full card numbers.
- Operational logs: request metadata used for security and abuse prevention.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected data to operate the assessment platform, grade submissions, generate analytics for teachers and administrators, process subscription payments, and maintain account security. We do not sell your data to third parties.
3. Data Retention
Account and assessment data is kept for as long as the account remains active. If a paid subscription lapses past its grace period, the account and associated data will be deleted in accordance with our billing terms. You may request earlier deletion at any time.
4. Security
Passwords are stored using one-way hashing. Data in transit is protected via TLS. Access to administrative tooling is gated by role-based authentication.
5. Children and Students
Student data is collected on behalf of the educational institution that enrolls a teacher. Schools are responsible for obtaining the appropriate consents under applicable laws (for example FERPA, COPPA, or GDPR-K). We act only as a processor of that data.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting your administrator or emailing the address below. Where applicable law grants additional rights (such as data portability), we will honour them.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the dashboard before they take effect.
